BAE Systems announced on 2 July 2026 that it has completed the delivery of 19 BvS10 Beowulf vehicles to the US military under the Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) programme.

This latest CATV delivery, which includes the first to the Vermont National Guard Army Mountain Warfare School, bring to 58 the number of BvS10 Beowulfs delivered, while there are an additional 97 vehicles currently on order.

The latest delivery also includes vehicles for the Arctic Region Test Center in Alaska and the 11th Airborne Division.

The US Army selected BAE Systems to fulfil its CATV requirement in August 2022, marking BAE Systems’ first international sale of the BvS10 Beowulf.

The CATV programme has seen significant growth since then, with BAE Systems continuing to build and deliver toward the army’s goal of acquiring 487 vehicles.

Designed and developed in Sweden by BAE Systems Hägglunds, the Beowulf is a tracked, articulated (dual-body) amphibious vehicle that, like its armoured counterpart, the BvS10 Viking, is designed for all types of terrain, from deep snow to flood waters to swampy terrain.

Additionally, the Beowulf is air-transportable by a CH-47 heavylift helicopter or C-130 tactical transport aircraft.
