The Bundeswehr has commissioned Rheinmetall to supply more than 2,000 military transport vehicles, the company announced on 28 May 2026.

The order, which is worth EUR 1.015 billion gross, covers approximately 1,000 8×8 (15-tonne) and around 1,000 4×4 (3.5-tonne) and 6×6 (5-tonne) unprotected logistic vehicles.

The major order is part of the framework contract concluded in 2024 for a total of up to 6,500 vehicles and will be booked in the second quarter of 2026.

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH (RMMV) will begin delivering the vehicles in the first half of 2026, with the vast majority of vehicles due to be delivered before the end of 2026.

With its large numbers and versatility, RMMV’s unprotected logistic vehicle family (UTF: the German abbreviation for Ungeschuetzte Transportfahrzeuge) forms the logistical backbone of the Bundeswehr.
