FN, the brand of FN Browning Group’s Defence & Security division that includes FN Herstal, FN UK and FN America, unveiled the FN Arka next-generation rifle platform on 2 June 2026.
Leveraging the ergonomics of the AR-15 assault rifle and offered in 5.56×45 mm NATO calibre, the FN Arka is designed to meet the demands of modern military and law enforcement professionals.
The FN Arka has been engineered specifically to bridge the gap between mechanical reliability and operator intuition.
“By integrating a short-stroke piston system that has been proven in the harshest operational conditions, the platform achieves a level of unequalled reliability and cleanliness, even when running suppressed,” FM stated in a press release. “This is further refined by an FN-fully qualified flow-through suppressor, which utilises advanced gas management to protect the user from blowback while ensuring the weapon’s cycle remains consistent and flat.”
The FN Arka comes standard with either a 14.5-inch standard barrel and a short or long M-LOK handguard, or a 11.25-inch close quarters combat (CQC) barrel and short M-LOK handguard. All configurations are available in flat dark earth or black colour and with selective fire or semi-auto only triggers. The rifle can be fitted with any AR-compatible buttstock or pistol grip.
The FN Arka will receive its public debut at the 2026 Eurosatory defence exhibition, being held in Paris from 15 to 19 June.
