Eurosatory 2026: Moog demonstrates RIwP flexibility with integration on Milrem Havoc RCV

Moog continued to demonstrate the flexibility of its Reconfigurable Integrated-Weapons Platform (RIwP) at Eurosatory 2026, held in Paris from 15-19 June.

At this year’s show the company showed the RIwP integrated for the first time on a Milrem Robotics Havoc 8×8 robotic combat vehicle (RCV) – the first time the system has been publicly shown integrated on an unmanned ground vehicle outside the United States – as well as on a KNDS Dingo 4×4 protected patrol vehicle.

The RIwP on the Havoc was configured to represent a fully layered air defence mission set, featuring Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) guided rockets for shorter ranges, Starstreak HVM surface-to-air missiles for ranges out to 10 km, an XM914 Bushmaster 30 mm cannon capable of firing airburst munitions for C-UAS engagements and an M340 7.62 mm machine gun for self-protection.

The RIwP on the Dingo, meanwhile, featured Starstreak HVM missiles and the ability to launch Switchblade loitering munitions, as well as the 30 mm XM914 cannon amd 7.62 mm machine gun.

Regardless of the weapon systems integrated onto RIwP, however, the system retains 85% hardware commonality.

While the RIwP is already in service with the US Army on both short-range air defence (SHORAD) and counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS)-configured Stryker 8×8 combat vehicles, Moog is looking to address three defined British Army requirements. The first two come under the British Army’s future Land Ground-Based Air Defence (GBAD) construct: firstly a SHORAD capability that would replace the British Army’s Stormer CVR(T)-based Close Air Defence Vehicles and secondly a Specialised Counter-UAS platform. The third is for a Mounted Close Combat Overwatch (MCCO) capability that forms part of the British Army’s broader Battle Group Organic Anti-Armour (BGOAA) initiative and is likely to feature Surface-Launched Brimstone anti-armour missiles.

Speaking to Warsight at Eurosatory 2026 on 15 June, Richard Allen-Miles, Moog’s EMEA campaign lead, stressed that a key point the company is looking to stress to the British Army is its ability to deliver a reconfigurable, adaptable weapon capability.

“One of the things that the Ukraine war is showing us is that, certainly in the UAV and air threat space, our enemies are iterating at a pace which far exceeds our ability to keep up with traditional procurement cycles,” Allen-Miles explained, “so RIwP’s ability to allow the user to say, ‘Okay, that’s sub-optimal now; take that off and put this on’, but retain 85% of the hardware is, we think, a game changer.”

“The ability to constantly adapt and evolve your weapon game – whether it’s air defence, multi-mission, anti-armour – to stay relevant and current to the prevailing threat, we think is the key attribute of the system.”

With regard to addressing upcoming UK requirements, Allen-Miles said Moog was committed to setting up a 100% UK production line, which would probably be located at the company’s facilities in Gloucestershire.
